SLAX -- это самозагружаемый CD, на котором установлена операционная система Линукс. Работает прямо с диска, без предварительной установки на жёсткий диск. Основан на программном обеспечении Slackware Linux.

The future of Slax 6
1) Squashfs is going to support bigger block sizes, up to 1MB, so the compression
of Slax will be even better in the future. (may provide 20MB!)
2) Slax sponsored 'posixovl' filesystem so slaxsave.dat file should be deprecated
in the future, as the changes will be directly saved to the VFAT filesystem,
while preserving all the Linux attributes/permissions/ownerships.
3) AUFS now reports some interesting info if a busy module is to be removed,
so it should be easier (and safer) to remove Slax modules on the fly in the future.
For now, if the module is not safe to be removed, it's unremovable.
4) New web is still in progress. Please be patient. I understand it takes too long,
but better be late then sorry.
5) I will maybe wait for KDE 4 for Slax6 final. I don't know yet, but other technologies
(eg. squashfs, lzma) are envolving right now so it may be better to wait anyway.

This is Slax6 rc6.
slax6-boot.iso is to boot your Slax on USB if your motherboard doesn't support booting from USB.
Simply boot the CD with your USB disk/flash_drive plugged in.

Slax6rc6 is the same like Slax6rc5, while 'fixsound.lzm' is included in TAR and ISO downloads.
I forgot to update rc.alsa script which unmutes sound in Slax, so rc5 doesn't play
any sound unless you unmute PCM and Master channels manually.

The module fixsound.lzm fixes this problem and is already included in rc6.
We are now using amixer instead of rexima, thanks to Quax!

If you have rc5, simply put 'fixsound.lzm' in
/base/ directory.
